About the event

As leaders and pioneers of change we tend to be passionate about our work and what we can do to improve the world. However, sometimes we can overlook what we also need to heal in ourselves.

Using Systemic Constellations, in this workshop we will create a space to acknowledge, let go of and transform the personal and inter-generational family wounds and traumas we that all carry, whether consciously or unconsciously. In doing so, we will free up more of our power and potential for bringing positive change to the world.

What do we need to grieve in relation to what happened to us, or in relation to what we didn’t get? What have we been unconsciously carrying on behalf of previous generations that we now need to put down? By facing these wounds and losses, we end up feeling lighter and discover gifts and insights that we can offer to the world.

This workshop will include small group exercises and larger Constellations in the whole group. The day will be experiential and embodied, allowing us to explore what the body knows but sometimes the conscious mind does not.

We will discover that we do this work on our own behalf and on behalf of the families we belong to - and that we also do it for each other and for the health of the greater whole. As we heal as individuals we also become a little more inspired and more empowered for the healing of our families, our communities and the wider world.

About Systemic Constellations

A core practice in Systemic Constellations is the creation of "living maps" where workshop participants stand in as "representatives" to represent different parts of the system we are looking at - whether a family system, organisational system or wider social system. This is a remarkably powerful diagnostic tool that helps us see the relationships in a system in a new light. We can work with this living map to explore different possible interventions and see the likely impact on the system.

Representatives in a Constellation typically receive an embodied sense of how different members of a system might respond to different interventions. This is a somewhat mysterious process – and we don’t know exactly how it happens – but the experience of practitioners over the past 30 years is that the process has an incredible power and can lead to significant “aha moments”. We see the system with new eyes. When we might have felt stuck before, we are now able to see promising new pathways ahead.

Who is the workshop for?

Your work focuses on addressing important societal challenge – this could be social, environmental, political, cultural or economic, or most likely a combination of these. You may be working with government, the private sector, civil society or the arts. You could be a leader at the top of your organisation, a change agent within it, or an external consultant.

You are no doubt concerned about the state of the world. You may be frustrated that we are not moving fast enough to address critical societal challenges. You are open to trying innovative approaches that might bring new perspectives and insights.

The workshop is open to those with experience of Constellations and those who are new to it. The key requirement for participation is that you are open to exploring issues in new and innovative ways. Systemic Constellations are very embodied and intuitive, so the most important thing is to be open and willing to trust the process.
