About the event

A one day workshop where you can explore how to increase your effectiveness in catalysing systemic change.

We will use practices from Systemic Constellations to bring fresh perspectives on:

Your leadership

  • What is my work to do?
  • What do I need to let go of?
  • What blocks or limits me?
  • What supports and strengthens me?

Working with systemic change

  • Working with other ways of knowing
  • The relational nature of systems
  • The importance of respect and reciprocity in relationships
  • Including those who have been blamed, marginalised or excluded
  • Speaking the truth (including acknowledging hard truths)
  • Including the wider systemic forces
  • Working with the possible
  • Finding the best place for supporting change

About Systemic Constellations

A core practice in Systemic Constellations is the creation of "living maps" where workshop participants stand in as "representatives" to represent different parts of the system we are looking at. This is a remarkably powerful diagnostic tool that helps us see the relationships in a system in a new light. We can work with this living map to explore different possible interventions and see the likely impact on the system.

Representatives in a Constellation typically receive an embodied sense of how different stakeholders might respond to different interventions. This is a somewhat mysterious process – and we don’t know exactly how it happens – but the experience of practitioners over the past 30 years is that the process has an incredible power and can lead to significant “aha moments”. We see the system with new eyes. When we might have felt stuck before, we are now able to see promising new pathways ahead.

We will work with this methodology in a number of different ways, including creating paper-based maps of the issue we are working on, doing short co-coaching exercises, and working in small groups with system mapping using floor markers.

We will most likely also constellate one or two whole group Constellations, working with the whole group.

Who is the workshop for?

Your work focuses on addressing important societal challenge – this could be social, environmental, political or economic, or most likely a combination of these. You may be working with government, the private sector or civil society. You could be a leader at the top of your organisation, a change agent within it, or an external consultant.

You are no doubt concerned about the state of the world. You may be frustrated that we are not moving fast enough to address critical societal challenges. You are open to trying innovative approaches that might bring new perspectives and insights.

The workshop is open to those with experience of Constellations and those who are new to it. The key requirement for participation is that you are open to exploring issues in new and innovative ways. Systemic Constellations are very embodied and intuitive, so the most important thing is to be open and willing to trust the process.

Pricing

To make the workshop accessible to all, we offer a range of prices so that you can pay according to your means. If you can afford to pay more, please pay the "supporter" rate - which helps us to continue to offer discounted rates to those who can't afford the standard rate.

(The payment system only allows us to charge in one currency on this website, which is why the amounts are quoted in GB Pounds for all locations.)
